Spurned in love, teen commits suicide

By: Manjunath L Hanji

Friends allege that he liked a girl in the neighborhood, but she loved some other boy

Pradeep, a 17-year-old committed suicide by swallowing poison yesterday. His parents discovered the body, when they went to check on him when he didn't turn up for dinner.

Pradeep, a resident of Shivajinagar had left his studies after class V, and was working at a salon, where his handicapped father is employed. He was in love with a girl in the neighbourhood, and all his friends knew about it. They advised him that he should stop thinking about her since she was a minor, but Pradeep used to say that he would wait until she was 18. But the girl never reciprocated his feelings.

So, his friend Santosh came to his rescue, and offered him his help to convince the girl. Pradeep agreed because he considered him his best friend, and because Santosh came from a financially stable family.

But about 15 days ago, Pradeep found out that Santosh also loves the same girl. When he confronted Santosh, Santosh admitted, and confessed that the girl loved him as well. This bothered him a lot, and both friends had a bitter argument over it. Santosh threatened that he would beat up Pradeep.

Santosh was heart-broken, and decided to kill himself. He took a bottle of poison in his room, and drank it. He left a note behind, which says," Love U think in ur heart that I am dead."

When he didn't respond after calling him, his mother went to check. She initially thought that he was sleeping, but when she rolled him over, she realised something was wrong. Without any delay, they transferred him to Bowring Hospital, but the doctors declared him dead. A case is yet to be registered, said his mother.

"He hadn't eaten for two days. I didn't know that he was in love with some girl until now," rued his mother.

Recommendation:

OOOOuuuuu.......It's hurt.  We already know the feeling of hurting except those who never been hurting. In this case, fortunately he is not a Muslim. But I'm wondering that what religions permit a suicide?? If we see in Islamic view, let us imagine this is a Muslim who commits suicide just because of love. We cannot denied that love is very beautiful. Yessss!!!! But we have to manage it properly. I am the one who facing the frustration because of love. Very stressfull! But we have to think Allah first! and "muhasabah" our self! Why Allah tested us? Astaghfirullahalazim..

Here is the great scholar, Ibn Taymiyah said: “A calamity that makes you turn to Allah is better for you than a blessing which makes you forget the remembrance of Allah.” :)

I am sure you all know about this :Almighty Allah says: “…it may be that you dislike a thing which is good for you and that you like a thing that is bad for you. Allah knows but you do not know.” (Al-Baqarah 2:216)

So, maybe what we have to let go will make something bad for us. Just be patient (I'm trying too). What we should do is just think the positive side of this frustration. Always prays to Allah, doa, find anyone who can share your feeling, crying, and other positive things that relevant.

I would like to share with you, that I love to read motivation in Genta Rasa which written by Mr. Pahrol Mohd Juoi :) Smile..........................! Assalamualaikum.
